USB Powered LED Wall Art

Every LED piece here runs from a USB cable. Plug it into a USB plug or port, or run it from a USB powerbank where there's no socket close by.

There's nothing to hard-wire and no batteries to replace.

It comes down to where you want to hang it:

• Choose USB if there's a socket within reach and you'll have it on most evenings. There are no batteries to buy or swap.
• Choose battery if the best spot has no socket nearby, or you don't want a cable showing. The trade-off is replacing batteries from time to time.

Yes. The neatest options:

• Hang it above a sideboard, desk or bedside table so the cable drops behind the furniture to the socket.
• Run the cable down the wall in a slim adhesive cable cover, painted to match.
• Where there's no socket, keep a USB powerbank out of sight nearby.

If you'd rather have no cable at all, choose a battery powered piece instead.

The LEDs are the long-lasting part. We don't publish an hours rating for each piece, but LED components are typically rated for 30,000 to 50,000 hours. At four hours every evening, 30,000 hours is over 20 years.

Heat and sunlight are what shorten the life of both the lights and the print, so hang it away from radiators and direct sun. On battery pieces the batteries will need replacing long before the LEDs wear out. Every piece also comes with a 12-month guarantee.

No more than warm to the touch. LEDs turn most of their power into light rather than heat, and every piece runs on low-voltage USB power or batteries, so there is no mains voltage in the artwork itself.

As with any electrical item, don't cover it while it's on, and don't hang it directly above a fire, radiator or heater.

Three things worth knowing before you buy:

• It needs power. USB pieces need a socket or powerbank within reach of the cable, and battery pieces need fresh batteries from time to time.
• The light shows best in a dim or evening room. In bright daylight it reads as a regular canvas.
• Like any electrical item, it isn't made for bathrooms, outdoors or damp rooms.
