Neon wall art questions, answered

Is neon wall art a neon sign?

No. Every piece here is a framed canvas with LEDs set into the design, so the neon look comes from the artwork and its lit details, not from glass tubes or a bent LED flex strip. There is no gas, no glass and nothing to wire in.

If you want a word or your name spelled out in light, that is a neon sign, and it isn't something we sell.

What's the difference between a neon sign and a neon canvas?
  • A neon sign is the light itself: lettering or a shape in glass tube or LED flex, often mounted on clear acrylic and seen at its best in the dark.
  • A neon canvas is a picture first: a bold, colourful image with LEDs picking out parts of the design, such as a pair of glasses, a crown or a slogan.
  • Switched off, a sign is mostly empty acrylic. A canvas still works as wall art in daylight.
Is the USB adaptor or battery included?

No. USB pieces come with the lead and an inline switch but not the plug-in adaptor, so use any 5V USB adaptor or a USB powerbank.

Battery pieces take three AAA batteries, which aren't included either, and come with a remote for dimming and a timer.

Does it still look good in daylight?

Yes, and it should. In daylight the printed colours and street-art detail carry the piece. The neon effect takes over in a dim room or after dark, which is when the glow reads strongest.

On a wall that gets bright sun all day, expect it to look like a bold canvas until the evening.

Where does neon wall art work best?
  • Games rooms and gaming setups, where the room is often dim and the colours sit well next to screens.
  • Home bars, behind the bar or above a sideboard.
  • Bedrooms, on a side wall rather than the one you face from the pillow. A battery piece with its timer remote switches itself off.

Do the LED lights get hot?

No more than warm to the touch. LEDs turn most of their power into light rather than heat, and every piece runs on low-voltage USB power or batteries, so there is no mains voltage in the artwork itself.

As with any electrical item, don't cover it while it's on, and don't hang it directly above a fire, radiator or heater.

Does it come framed?

Yes. Every piece arrives framed and ready to hang, so there's no frame to buy and nothing to assemble. Unbox it, hang it and switch it on.

How fast is delivery, and can I return it?

UK delivery is free and tracked with DPD. Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same working day and usually arrive 1 to 2 working days later.
